Meet Ada D. Astacio, a basically self-taught artists. Originally from Puerto Rico, she has been a Georgia resident for more than 30 years. She finds her inspiration from nature, after all, she has a master in science. She normally works from photos she takes, paying attention to light and shadows. She usually works with watercolors, acrylics and colored pencils.She likes vibrant color and a more realistic style, but lately she has been experimenting with freestyle strokes and combining mediums. She was won various awards, exhibited at the Governor’s Office of the state of Georgia in 2005 and again in 2007, and was featured as one of the “Best of Artists” series in 2011 from Kennedy Publishing. She is a life time member of the Georgia Watercolor Society, Southern Watercolor Society, and the Colored Pencil Society of America.
